Integrated Therapy for Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, and Chronic Pain
Chronic pain, trauma, and emotional distress are often deeply connected. Pain can begin when we don’t feel emotionally or physically safe, and unresolved trauma can intensify both emotional and physical discomfort. I help clients address all of these layers together, using evidence-based therapies tailored to each individual. My integrated approach promotes relief, emotional clarity, and lasting change.
My Integrated Approach
- All Modalities Work Together – We don’t treat symptoms in isolation. Every session is designed to address the interconnected roots of trauma, pain, anxiety, and depression.
- Personalized Care – Each client receives a plan blending the techniques that will work best for them, often combining trauma processing, pain reprocessing, and emotional expression in every session.
- Support for Treatment-Resistant Depression – For clients whose depression is linked to chronic pain or trauma, I provide Spravato integration sessions where appropriate.
Modalities I Use
1. Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Rapidly rewires distressing experiences for faster relief, helping clients feel emotional and physical release in a safe, controlled way.
2. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Processes traumatic or stressful memories to reduce emotional distress and improve regulation in both mind and body.
3. Brainspotting
Targets trauma and emotional blocks through focused eye positions, supporting both emotional clarity and physical relief.
4. Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)
Retrains the brain to stop interpreting pain signals as dangerous. Most chronic pain is neuroplastic (learned). Neuroplastic pain is a type of chronic pain that occurs when the nervous system undergoes changes in response to ongoing pain signals. We can unlearn pain!
5. Emotional Awareness & Expression Therapy (EAET)
Addresses unresolved trauma and emotional conflicts that contribute to chronic pain conditions like migraines, fibromyalgia, headaches, and back pain.
6. Spravato Integration Sessions
Supports therapy for treatment-resistant depression that is often linked for my clients to chronic pain or trauma. Spravato can help clients maximize (and expedite) outcomes and integrate changes safely.
Why This Approach Works
All modalities are interconnected. Addressing trauma helps reduce pain; addressing pain improves emotional well-being. Together, they create a pathway to feeling safe, supported, and whole.
